Women should be celebrated; mothers have a special place in the world -- not because they are a symbol, a manifestation of the great mother, like a goddess, or the embodiment of an idea. They deserve to be celebrated and delighted in simply because they are women. Sa'ada dances with joy and emotion at events such as baby showers, natural birth conferences, blessing ways, and parties as a celebration of birth, babies & mommas, pregnancy, and all those who help in that process. Scroll down to the bottom of this page for a video clip of a performance that celebrate personal feminine transformation. The dance is not a form of goddess worship, nor does it have a specific connection to a religion or belief system. These dances are appropriate for all cultures and groups, and the dance is a celebration of life and people. Sa'ada can tailor the dance and costume to your needs and the occasion, as well as to the people there present. Showers and parties can also include a mini dance lessen for the group. In a culture where we celebrate birth and pregnancy by showering material things, there needs to be an acknowledgment of this real process of motherhood and new person-ness (of the child as well as the mother). There are no words that can really express such rich and deep understandings. Through dance, the positive focus of energy can be expressed to welcome new life and acknowledge that full experience.
